SCIENCE COMMUNICATION AND NON-FORMAL SPACES: PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES IN SUSTAINABILITY

The aim of this article is to present science communication practices combined with non-formal spaces in a public school in the municipality of Manaus, Amazonas. With elementary school students, we sought to answer the following question: How can we promote scientific dissemination processes, the school environment and non-formal spaces in sustainability-oriented practices? The article takes a qualitative, descriptive approach, with a phenomenological focus, as well as participant research, in addition to conversation circles, field classes and workshops for data collection. We analyzed not only the benefits of science communication practices and their alignment with non-formal teaching spaces, but also how sustainability can be more present in teaching practices in elementary school. Significant results include improvements and diversification in the classes and in the learning models of the participating students.
