ESSAYS ON HEGEMONIES: NOTES ON THE INVASION OF VENEZUELA BY THE UNITED STATES

Resumen

This essay was originally published on the Crítica Desapiedada website under the title “Notes on the Invasion of Venezuela by the United States,” offering a critical and revolutionary perspective on recent events in Venezuela and the inter-imperialist disputes that are shaping the Latin American political landscape. It is an interpretative effort that seeks to shift the debate beyond moralistic, legal or purely geopolitical readings, reframing the analysis within the context of class relations, the dynamics of contemporary capitalism and renewed forms of imperialist domination. It starts from the understanding that events cannot be explained by the simple opposition between national bourgeoisies, but by the structural logic that articulates state, capital and violence in the reorganisation of world hegemony. This essay therefore seeks to contribute to an interpretation that rejects both the uncritical celebration of external interventions and the automatic defence of local bourgeoisies under the discourse of sovereignty, affirming the need for an internationalist and anti-capitalist position in the face of intensifying conflicts.
