A FORMAÇÃO DAS FRONTEIRAS A PARTIR DO SURGIMENTO DOS ESTADOS NACIONAIS MODERNOS E O RETORNO DO NACIONALISMO NO SÉCULO XXI
Resumo
As feições territoriais do que se conhece hoje como Estado nacional nem sempre tiveram essas características espaciais. Tais características são resultados de diversas transformações que se materializaram no território ao longo de seu tempo histórico, principalmente por conta da dinâmica demográfica. Estas transformações são mais evidentes em suas bordas territoriais, lugares que se convencionou denominar de fronteira. São construções artificiais inventadas pelas sociedades humanas com o intuito de separar o seu do outro. Este artigo tem como objetivos destacar as concomitâncias entre o surgimento do Estado nacional moderno e o enrijecimento das suas lindes como forma de construção de uma sociedade baseada no conceito de nação. O outro objetivo é analisar o ressurgimento de debates de cunho nacionalistas nessa segunda década do século XXI, que tem gerado um aparente retorno do nacionalismo no continente europeu e norte americano, mais especificamente, concomitante ao recrudescimento das hordas de refugiados que tem buscado refúgio na Europa e Estados Unidos. E por fim, analisar o crescente contingente de refugiados venezuelanos que tem buscado, principalmente no Brasil, abrigo do caos social, político e econômico que se instalou na Venezuela.
The territorial features of what is now known as the national state have not always had these spatial characteristics. These characteristics are the result of several transformations that materialized in the territory throughout its historical time, mainly due to the demographic dynamics. These transformations are more evident in its territorial borders, places that are denominated border. They are artificial constructions invented by human societies in order to separate theirs from the other. This article aims to highlight the concomitances between the emergence of the modern national state and the stiffening of its borders as a way of building a society based on the concept of nation. The other objective is to analyze the resurgence of nationalist debates in the second decade of the twenty-first century, which has generated an apparent return to nationalism on the European and North American continent, more specifically concomitant with the recrudescence of the refugee hordes that have sought refuge in Europe and the United States. And, finally, analyze the growing number of Venezuelan refugees who have sought, mainly in Brazil, shelter from the social, political and economic chaos that settled in Venezuela.
